I know a lot of people on DU complained about Daschle and I often disagreed with him, but I also respected him and would rather have him in the Senate than any republican. He wasn't my senator but this article almost made me tear up.

1. Daschle was good, but he didn't like prairie dogs!!

He and Thune agreed on Prairie Dogs.

There are maybe 5 million PrDogs left in SD, nationwide 98% of them have been killed over the years.

State law says you have to be 18 to vote--this discriominates against
P Dogs--they live to be 8 years old at best!

When P Dogs flourish, so do the ferret and many other
prairie species--it would increase eco-tourism and ironically, hunting of the bigger game species, too!

Don't you get tired of the Dem Party agreeing with Republicans on many many issues?
