Judge dismisses election lawsuit By Craig Boerner, cboerner@nashvillecitypaper.com June 08, 2004 United States District Judge Todd Campbell has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Davidson County Election Commission employee Sharon Wood after a co-worker searched her computer at the request of a board member.
Wood, who recruits Republican poll workers for elections, filed suit against the commission, co-worker Kathy Deshotels, Administrator of Elections Michael McDonald and board members including Eddie Bryan. Her computer was searched in 2003 at Bryan's request to determine if she was using Metro property for activities unrelated to her job.
Her lawsuit alleged that Deshotels and Bryan subjected her to harassment because of her political affiliation, including an illegal invasion of privacy. The suit also contained claims of a hostile work environment, slander and libel.http://nashvillecitypaper.com/index.cfm?section_id=9&screen=news&news_id=33643
