Editorial for Bob Corker had moronic justifications
I was not surprised to read the moronic justifications The Leaf-Chronicle gives for endorsing Bob Corker for U.S. Senate
. Indeed, Corker did serve as the commissioner of finance for the state under Gov. Don Sundquist. Together, their joint ineptitude brought Tennessee to the brink of an income tax. Remember that bastion of political wisdom? Thankfully, Gov. Bredesen rescued us from that Republican fate.
The endorsement also states that Corker will stem the tide of illegal immigration. What a joke! Corker's use of illegal aliens has been widely documented. The Leaf-Chronicle also states that Corker will improve education and work to reduce crime. Strange, the vote among his own Chattanooga police department and the Tennessee Education Association to endorse his opponent, Harold Ford Jr. is essentially unanimous.
Corker has already embarrassed Tennessee by being the only U.S. senatorial candidate too insecure to debate his opponent on "Meet the Press." Neither a conservative nor a liberal, Corker is a businessman who has been subpoenaed to give a deposition on Oct. 20 to explain why he let big business violate a Chattanooga conservation law that would have prevented his construction company from netting $4.6 million in profits. Indeed, this court appearance would foreshadow Corker joining the Republican ranks of DeLay, Abramoff, Ney, Safavian, Foley, Kolbe and Cunningham behind bars.
