ELIZABETHTON - With Speaker of the House Kent Williams and the man that he defeated for the job, Jason Mumpower, both in attendance, the annual legislative breakfast sponsored by the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce should be both informative and interesting.
The event will take place March 27 from 8-9 a.m. at the Truman Clark Annex. Today is the last day to make advance reservations.

This will be the first legislative breakfast Williams has attended in Carter County since he became the speaker in January by voting for himself instead of Mumpower, the choice of the Republican caucus. His action shocked Mumpower and the state Republican Party

Other noteable Republican politicians repoted to be attending the March 27 Elizabethton CofC legislative breakfast includes U.S. House of Representative Phil Roe (R -TN1), Tennessee Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, State Senator Rusty Crowe, and field representative for U.S. Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander.
No word as to if Tennessee Republican Party Gopführer Robin Smith will be in Elizabethtonon March 27 to hold Rep. Jason Mumpower's hand during the Elizabethton CofC breakfast.
