Franken coming to SXSW Interactive

He's good enough . . . he's smart enough . . . and gosh darn it, he'll be at SXSW Interactive.

"Saturday Night Live" alum and political gadfly Al Franken will be participating in a one-on-one interview March 14, festival organizers announced Wednesday via a posting on their Web site.

The erstwhile Stuart Smalley and current talk show host on the liberal Air America Radio will be talking about politics, the future of Internet radio and "life in the Lone Star State," the SXSW site said.

Other noted speakers at the 2005 Interactive Festival include blogger Ana Marie Cox ("Wonkette"), "Blink" author Malcolm Gladwell, "WorldChanging" editor Alex Steffen and "Wired" columnist Bruce Sterling.

2. Great timing with AAR now coming to Austin

Gosh darn it, I bet the two are related. What better way to launch a new radio station in the market than to have Al Franken come kick it off. I wonder if he and Catherine are going to do broadcasts from Austin. They do other road trips like that. At the very least I'm sure Al is going to call into his show "Live from Austin, TX".

Awesome, wish I could go to the SxSW Interactive festival.
