Lt. Gov. Dewhurst's Mother Dies

Martha Harris Dewhurst Nevins Wing -- the mother of Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst -- has died at her Houston home. She was 84.

The Houston Chronicle reports she died Tuesday after a long illness. The newspaper reports that during World War Two, Mrs. Wing worked for the old Humble Oil and Refining Company -- which became part of Exxon Mobil. She later worked for First City National Bank and the law offices of former Congressman John E. Lyle.
