Austin area folks: Do you have a hard time getting Air America at night?
I live in South Austin, and I know the signal is up in Pflugerville, and it seems that as soon as the sun goes down the signal here starts to crack up a bit.

Do you have similar experiences? Those of you in North Austin, is your experience similar?

1. They reduce power at night.
I stream it all the time, instead.

3. Yup.
I live in 78741 (off of Oltorf), and the reception is crap at night. I usually used the online feed after sundown.

5. When driving north it improves
Edited on Mon Jul-25-05 01:06 PM by melissinha
I usually drive north on 35 at 9-10 pm night listening to Malloy, coming form Riverside I can't hear....and I manage to hear him when I am on the upper deck... only at that position does the signal get recognizable and then it stays on throughout the drive to the Arboretum.

BUT, never thought of this before, never have a problem in the early evening.... listen to Majority Report, no problem.

I live in the Arboretum, I can hear it there... even on the clock radio and little portable radio walking the dog.

Sometimes though there is a complete blackout in the morning during the Morning Sedition.

6. Yes, same problem in S. Austin
I hear they will be upgrading their transmitters soon though.

I do so hope that's true.
