Live in Austin! Vote today in the ACC run-off!
Veronica Rivera is in a run-off with Marc Levin for ACC trustee.

Levin is an officer in the Young Conservatives of Texas.

Veronica has been a teacher and an attorney. She is in the mainstream of Austin life.

This race will be decided by just a few hundred votes. Make sure your vote is counted.

If you are going to the State Dem Convention, you need to vote early (the convention's last day is the day of the actual vote).

Here are early voting locations:
ACC Highland Business Center- 5930 Middle Fiskville Rd.
Rio Grande Campus- 1212 Rio Grande
Northridge Campus- 11928 Stonehollow Dr.
Eastview Campus- 3401 Webberville Rd.
Riverside Campus- 1020 Grove Blvd.
Pinnacle Campus- 7748 Hwy 290 West
Cypress Creek Campus- 1555 Cypress Creek Rd., Cedar Park

To everyone who lives around or works at UT, the UGL will NOT be a polling location for this run-off.

3. Actual election day is June 19
Many precincts are being combined so you may end up voting somewhere other than your normal polling place.

6. One last day to vote before Saturday
Tuesday (15 June) is the last early voting day. Please vote if you think you might not be able to vote on Saturday.

If you do vote on Saturday, please be aware that your polling place might not be where it normally is. Since this is a "down ballot" run-off, they are combining vote places.

Please make no mistake, this election will be decided by just a few hundred votes.

Veronica Rivera is a great candidate with a very progressive record.
Marc Levin is an officer in the Young Conservatives of Texas.

Your vote will make the difference. Lots of right-wing nuts are voting in this election because they see it as their chance to win something in Austin.

So please vote.

7. Make no mistake about Marc Levin
He is a dangerous crackpot

Attorney Marc Levin – candidate for Place 6 on the Austin Community College Board of Trustees – currently serves as vice president of the Texas Review Society, a non-profit organization that publishes far-right public policy newspapers and journals in Texas. He has served as president of the far-right Texas Federalist Society and as state vice chairman and general counsel for the Young Conservatives of Texas. The Young Conservatives of Texas are known for outrageous stunts like “bake sales” on university campuses in which members charge women, African American and Hispanic customers lower prices for pastries to protest affirmative action programs.

Although he is seeking a spot on the governing board of a large, urban public community college with a racially diverse student body, Mr. Levin is a staunch opponent of affirmative action programs. He has led numerous groups that want to dismantle affirmative action programs across the country, including service as president of the American Freedom Center, vice-president of Students for a Colorblind Society and executive director of The Campaign for a Color-Blind America. Levin is also an adviser to the Sacramento-based American Civil Rights Institute, headed by Ward Connerly, who in 1995 persuaded fellow members of the University of California Board of Regents to end an affirmative action program for student admissions. Mr. Levin was staff attorney to Texas Supreme Court Justice Steven Wayne Smith, attorney for the seven plaintiffs in Hopwood v. Texas, the case that ended affirmative action in Texas. When UT Professor Lino Graglia said “Blacks and Mexican-Americans are not academically competitive with whites in selective institutions,” Mr. Levin publicly defended those remarks.

This is one election where your vote will matter. And you get to use a good old-fashioned paper ballot!
