3. I think this might have been my letter:

For the third time in 6 months, the Texas Legislators voted themselves a $6000 increase in the pension they can collect at age 50 with just 12 years of service in a part time civil service job serving their constituents.

For those who can stay in office for just 8 years of this part time service, they will receive at the very least $34,000 a year for the rest of their lives for doing absolutely nothing. This is more than many hard working Texans earn at fulltime jobs.

This bill is tied to a pay increase for our elected judges and makes a very convenient and simple minded excuse for the Legislators. Maybe they should tie their pension increase to teachers salaries. At least then they will focus on what is important to all Texans.
