Received this email this morning... I know several DU'ers went last year and may be interested in the planning process for next year.
Convention 2006
The Texas Democratic Party needs volunteers in Austin and Fort Worth to help us work on the 2006 Democratic State Convention. Volunteers will have the opportunity to be meaningfully involved in putting on one of the state’s largest political events with many of the country’s most important political leaders in attendance.
Volunteer assistants will work closely with TDP Chairman Charles Soechting and with Convention Coordinator Donna Beth McCormick.
If interested in the planning in Austin or Fort Worth (site of the 2006 convention), please give us a call at (512) 478-9800 or email Donna Beth McCormick at dbmccormick@txdemocrats.org. We hope to see all of you in Fort Worth!

I look forward to helping as much as I can on this worthwhile effort.

2. Guess who's committed to speaking? |
|
Howard Dean, Wesley Clark and John Edwards. Guess who MIGHT be there? Hillary Clinton and Mark Warner.
Make your plans, people.

4. Amendment II Democrats might have a booth there |
|
A different sort of booth, mind you - a dunking booth.
Just a thought for the moment. But if it goes through, yours truly would be sitting in the booth wearing a George W. Bush mask. Who can resist the urge to dunk the Oaf of Office?

Where are you going to get said booth? Is it going to be indoors? Just wondering....

8. It's still early in the planning stages |
|
But there are some party rental folks that offer booths and such. It's an idea that I had percolating in the back of my head for years.
We'll see what develops.

5. Sherri Boyles has to be a featured speaker |
|
Put her and Sheila Jackson Lee on the podium and the place will rock.

6. Sheri does pack a punch |
|
As does the great Sheila Jackson Lee. I'd like to see Sherri get back in a state wide race or at least run for a house seat in our State Lege.
