Houston Chronicle reports that Dick Cheney is coming to town in September to stump for none other than Tom DeLay.

According to the story, Republicans are getting invites to some shin-dig at the Westin Galleria September 16th 5-7pm, but they may change the date and time now that it's been printed in the local press. (National security, you know! Nothing to see here! Move along, move along!)

Already I can think of the signs we should be holding outside:

"DOES THE WHITE HOUSE NEED AN EXTERMINATOR?"

Though lately I've been reading more Old Testament, and I might just wear a Bible-verse sandwichboard featuring a juicy quote or two from Isaiah or Proverbs about legislators who trample on the poor. Woe!

Hopefully in a jail as well. You have a great protest out there! Let's see if Cheney doesn't chickenhawk out. Or the fundraiser moves suddenly so DeLay won't have to confront the protesters like he's done before too.
