I'm so glad you took pictures. I took my camera but was just too involved in listening and meeting up with friends. What a great send off we gave them. I'm proud of Austin for standing up!
Take the Statesman count for what it is, a lie. We were "only hundreds". I'm surprised they didn't say dozens, like they usually say. I know we had at least 1,500 and maybe 2,000. This was almost like the rally at Camp Casey II last Saturday.

Cindy Sheehan got a rock star's welcome as she arrived in Austin on Wednesday to launch a 26-state "Bring Them Home Now" bus tour to protest the war in Iraq.
Hundreds of Austin peace activists and protesters sweated through the thick, 100-degree, rush-hour heat to hear Sheehan, who has become a national figure after setting up camp near President Bush's Crawford ranch in early August and demanding to meet with him about her son Casey, a soldier killed in the Iraq war.
Austin activists said they thought that Sheehan's sudden appearance on the national stage would revitalize the anti-war movement.
"I think she gives people hope that they have a voice," said Pete Fredricksen, 53, who was wearing a 78704 Peace T-shirt, a nod to the South Austin ZIP code. "People had begun to think they can't do anything. She shows that one person can stand up and other people will follow."
Keep the peace tour rolling!
