we're in Houston and don't know what we're doing yet. The neighbor's chopping down his trees as I type, though the other neighbor is ignoring his huge pecan that hangs over the fence and house. I've denuded the outside, and am on my way out to see what's left at the stores. I'm a bit freaked; husband will be home by noon, rather, standing in line I hope at Home Depot. Will try to post a bit more before we skedaddle if we have to.

To be honest, I'm freaked too. This storm is expected to get worse which isn't good considering she's already a cat 4.

With three people and seven cats, we will probably need to spread out in Austin. JohnCoby has already offered us one room. But I like the idea of smoker friendly.

I'm in Houston now but all set with a place in Austin that can take me AND the other 4 women in my house. Not the Dripping Springs friend but another family with a big house northwest of Austin, will be a bit of a drive!

Austin & Dallas look likely to meet Rita too, you know -- probably a heck of a lot of rain, but winds far less than what might happen here. My house is not in the storm surge area but we're probably going to take off anyway, because of the wind.

At work we've been instructed to move all of our files, etc. away from exterior offices, and to shut our office doors when we leave.

reprehensor and I have one lovely guest bedroom with satellite TV and queen size bed.

We have a psychotic cat and a HUGE furry dog, but can take pets if you have them. Fargo is very easy to get along with.
