Newspaper's report on BAND's event.
Overflow crowd greets Democrats

"The turnout was overwhelming," said John Cobarruvias, president of BAND. "The restaurant was packed with excitement and enthusiasm. It shows we are tired of the high cost of gasoline, college, home insurance, health care and the disaster in Iraq."

A standing room only crowd of more than 250 Democrats gathered at a Clear Lake restaurant on Aug. 15 to hear from candidates taking on Republican leaders in next year's elections.

But no surprise as far as I'm concerned. BAND kicks ass, er, elephant! And its president does, too. :hi:
