Sugarland and the Woodlands ... near Houston ...
should my hubby's business partners be evacuating?

We're out here in California; we have not been able to get in touch with them.

1. The Woodlands is the northern part of Houston
bound to get a lot of wind and rain. If I remember my Texas geography, I think Sugarland might be in more serious trouble.

2. Yes; Woodlands northwest of Houston; I believe Sugarland is
near Pasadena? I don't know that part of Houston as well. I grew up 90 miles NW of Houston.

3. Right, Sugarland is near Pasadena
which is southeast Houston, so that looks to be in the danger zone. I'd get the hell out of there if I was ANYWHERE on that side of the city.

6. Thanks, DUers.
Like I said, we haven't heard from anyone. No one is answering their cell.

8. NO! Sugarland is SOUTHWEST on US 59
Pasadena is Southeast on Beltway 8 and 225.

10. You're right ... I'm sorry.
I haven't lived down there for a l-o-n-g time. I called Pasadena home for seven years and I knew Sugarland was somewhere around there, just couldn't remember exactly where.

4. Sugar Land is SW
Pasadena is SE.

And yes, they should evacuate.

9. Oh, yeah.
But we're a good mix of Dems and Pubs.

We have agreed not to discuss politics, of course.

But, like I said, we have not been able to reach anyone today.

12. the phone circuits are busy all over town
I couldn't make a cell phone call for about two straight hours tonight.

Everyone's freaking out down here. You'd think a loaded gun was pointed at our heads. Oh, that's right - it is!

Sorry, a little gallows humor - I'm so not looking forward to this storm.

11. Sugarland is expected to have some problems
Woodlands is far north of Houston - may have very high winds.

Why don't you check out www.chron.com The Houston Chronicle website.

They can keep you posted on the changing path, and evac details.

Good luck to your hubby's associates.
