Many Texas Dems & Anti-BushCo Lobby Pissed Over DeLay Indictment

I'd be especially interested in your opinion of the following statement:

Further, the chairman of the Texas Democratic Party, Charles Soechting, a partner in the law firm of O'Quinn, Laminack & Pirtle, is a bigger scumbag than Tom DeLay. His law partner John O'Quinn is even worse. Both are real John O'Neill (Houston), Swiftboat org, types of scumbags. It's one thing to be gutter scum and get things done (DeLay). It's another thing to be gutter scum and get nothing done but line your own pockets (Soechting).

Again, this is a repost of that thread, so if you'd like to participate, head on over. I just didn't want it to get lost in the frenzy.

1. I just came here to post it.
Glad someone else has seen this, GOP in the name tells you the story.

2. The poster has often said some intelligent stuff.
But I'm not about to let this pass without politely asking him about it.

3. hmmm...
thanks for pointing that one out. I disagree with the poster on several points, but have decided not to take the bait. So what if he's anti-Bush? Still not worth my time.

Maybe I should rephrase my paragraph above into the "Royal We" to make it sound more authoritative? ("Many of us disagree with the poster... we live just blocks from the grandest oil money neighborhood in Houston btw. The poster is not worth our time.")

I double-dog dare you to go over to that thread and post that!

Does anyone know whether or not the Soechting stuff has any basis at all? I thought I was reasonably well-informed in Texas politics, and I haven't heard anything like that. Is he just making this up out of whole cloth, or did I miss some kernel of a story somewhere?

7. He is one of the enemy
He probably is a member of TRMPAC! Our friend, the self-professed "money-man", may have other concerns. Someone rolled is the word I am hearing. These people are very concerned, no matter what they would like us to think.

8. The link to GD is gone!
I've heard of threads locked, but can a thread just disappear? Did I miss some kind of flame war that caused the thread to go poof?

9. Yes, the mods can and do poof threads,
usually the exceptionally offensive ones. However I had checked on this little gem pretty late into the day and it had not degenerated into a flamewar, and just being a flamewar is not enough reason for them to poof a thread. I wonder why they did? Hmmm...

10. All I know about that group
is that they made a boatload of cash in the Phen-fen AHP trials.
