(This is a copy of my anchor-laden post in GD. You Texans will get it.)
Bell was on to talk about his ethics complaint against Tom DeLay.
Culbertson (R of course, and a DeLay homunculus) calls in and IMMEDIATELY goes into "kill the messenger" mode. Trying to impugn Bell's motives, saying he waited until he lost his seat before he filed, was politically motivated, EVERYTHING EXCEPT talking about the merits of the complaints. (Who's surprised?)
He could not utter a single sentence without the words "sad" and "pathetic" in it - referring to Bell's timing and motivations. When asked repeatedly by Bell and the host to respond to the counts cited in the complaint, all he could say was "Delay denied it" "Already been looked into." "Outrageous" "Politcally motivated". Then he and Bell got into a huge cross-talk argument about who was talking over whom. Needless to say, they were both talking at the same time. :eyes:
Man those guys are frantic - it was a panicky and weak attack even by RW standards.
I'd say there must be something to it...
The ethics complaint can be read at Rep Bell's website: www.house.gov/bell
