OMG!
I always expected this but now I know I live in Freeperville County, aka Ellis County. According to OpenSecret.org 83% of all political donations go to repubes. Argh! http://www.opensecrets.org/states/county.asp?State=TX&Year=2002

2. Sorry to hear that.
Really I am. I wish I had enough money to donate so I could at least be used in the survey of donors, but alas I am a poor working class democrat.

I live in Galveston County. We give 61% to Democrats! way to go, neighbors!:-)

And this is the county that Tom Delay decided to invade with redistricting!!! I hope that decision comes back to bite him on his ugly ass!LOL

5. Wow. Rockwall's actually doing better than I thought they were...
43% Dems, 56% Repubs.

Considering our area is 85% Repub, that's quite an OK average.

6. What a difference a few miles make ----
While my county, Fort Bend, gives 81% to GOPpers, take a look just down the road at Jefferson County (Beaumont) - Two million bucks with 91% going to the good guys. I just heard today that Nick Lampson raised a million dollar this quarter, and that Ted Poe only has about a hundred grand in his account. That is wonderful news.

And, smart folks say that Harris County is expected to go Kerry!

Hey, thanks for that link! I'll pass it along,

15. Unfortunately, y'all outnumber us!
SE Texans aren't a liberal bunch by any means, but it is still solidly Dem. But Fort Bend and Montgomery counties can outvote us- hence the re-re-districting of our State Senate, Court of Appeals, and Congressional seats so that wealthy Houston suburbanites elect our people.

Though, you can't go by this alone since it only details reportable contributions (those over $200). For example, Newton County in East Texas shows a 100% contribution rate for repubs, yet it probably votes 80% Dem. In fact, it was one of only 2 counties in the state to actually vote for Bob Krueger- Newton and his home county! So some of your home counties may not be as bad as this indicates. :-)

Which is better than I thought. However, I do want to shake the hand of whoever made the contribution in King County...

16. What the fuck happened to houston???
Apparently in 2001-2002 houston gave 85% to dems - but 2003-2004 has only 6%! Yes, SIX PERCENT! That's NOT a good sign.
