So what's the deal with Bob Johnson?
I keep hearing ads for Bob Johnson, (Republican challenging Sam Johnson in the Republican primary) on Air America. He sounds pretty cool, which makes me wonder how he got on the ballot. I thought the Rethugs protected their strong people like Sam Johnson & wouldn't let anyone else on the ballot. Any "spies" out there who know if the Republican party is trying to dump Sam Johnson and get some reasonable people in the party? Or is Bob Johnson just a nutcase? I'm not in that district, just curious.

1. I don't know anything about local intra-Republican politics, but I am
in that district. I was surprised to see that quite a few incumbents had challengers. I'm interested to see the results of the primary.

3. His campaign signs strike me as a bit nutty.
A friend of mine who lives in that area went to a candidate's forum where he was and she said that he came across as too talkative and annoying. She was thinking about crossing over to vote for him but changed her mind about that because she said he wasn't appealing enough to make her want to be considered a Republican for the year!

She did also say that Dan Dodd, the Democrat, came across as very intelligent and good.

4. I got the same impression from his website
I like his Air America commercial & like his ideas on medical marijuana, impeaching Bush, and getting out of Iraq, but I took a look at his website and found his writing to be rather "talkative and annoying." If he did go to Congress, he'd probably be a lone nutcase, unable to make the connections with other member of Congress that a representative needs to achieve campaign promises.

I went online to see the Republican ballot, and Bob Johnson is listed first! Hope that confuses enough voters that he wins the primary! Then, we'd have a clear shot at winning that district.

5. they tried to keep a challenger off ballot for swinsford. carlisle
took it to the supreme court and they had to allow her on the ballot. maybe this is the same. unfortunately now perry has told all the politico's here in this area they back swinford and make sure he wins. it has been a week onslaught. i heard seliger the state senator here in this area said he wouldnt get into hte fight. perry told him if he did not he would make life hell for him in austin
