Here in Corpus Christi, we had an especially brutal primary season. There were several races where the negative campaigning got out of hand (both in terms of its intensity and its departures from the truth). There are a few run offs, but the ugliest fights are over now. I'd like to congratulate the local winners (including both those I supported and those I didn't support):

Nueces County Commissioner - Precinct 2 - Betty Jean Longoria
Judge, Nueces County Court At Law No. 3 - run off between John Martinez and Mark Skurka
Judge, Nueces County Court At Law No. 4 - run off between Hector Rene Gonzalez and Jim Klager
Nueces County Democratic Chair - run off between Alex Garcia, Jr. and Jerry J. Trevino
