Semi-regular Sunday DU brunch gathering in Austin 3/12
Yes, I know it's kind of late notice. We have some out of town friends (DUers) coming in for the film part of SxSW. So we're going to be neighborly and greet them.

Same bat time:
This Sunday 3/12 10:00 a.m.

Different bat channel (South Austin -78704)
La Feria Restaurant
2010 S Lamar Blvd
Austin, TX 78704

1. Maybeeeee....
I'm sick, my mother is visiting, and we have a baby, but maybe we can get it together enough to come have breakfast.

That restaurant is awfully convenient.

5. Oh please do, Dora
We need a strong southern contingent to balance the force. Those northerners are always dragging us across the river.

Good health to your Mom. My Mom is having surgery tomorrow and I'm wishing her well too. She says it's nothing serious but you never want you loved ones to be in pain.

Bring the baby.

6. Oh you mean who are the out of town DUers huh?
Well that's a surprise. I'll give you a town though, Fort Worth. So it's a long haul for them, so be extra super nice.

7. I'm going to be in Austin on Sunday
I'll be in a meeting all weekend, BUT I don't think I'll be done by 10 a.m. IF I am, I'll join you!! I may be finished more like by noon.

8. muse, it would be great to see you
Maybe we'll stick around for some noon time margaritas. I have a meeting at two so I can't get too wasted. But some others around here have much greater alcohol tolerance than I do.

12. NoPasaran, you need food first
Even if you have to volunteer some time block walking, you can break it up with some food. Invite your regular politicos if they want to drop by too.

OK, so she's not really a guest, she's a member here, and a bunch of you have met her before, but still...

I've been at an Emily's List training session here in Austin today that was amazing. I could sure use that margarita right now. But we'll save it for tomorrow.

Don't drive like crazy, I'm sure if you make it by 10:30 or 10:45 we'll still be lounging around.

25. Yes thanks to everyone who came out
We had 18 people - young and old. And 19 if we count the baby. I know we had 18 eating at the tables. Baby Lilly slept through the whole meal and we weren't a quite table either. Very good baby. She felt right at home with a bunch of loud liberals. We know she'll grow up to be a wonderful Democrat.

Pictures:

David I'm so sorry this picture caught you with your eyes closed. The other one is much too dark. Well at least it shows you were relaxed.

See I tried to fix it. but it was too dark on your side of the table. This was a nice picture of Rachel and David Van Os. If only you could see it.

This is the northern side of the table. DUers from Fort Worth and Georgetown as well. That's Melissa G making a venture North.

VelmaD feeling perfectly centered between the north and South. Acmejack and I were the dividing line (Colorado River line), but I'm out of my chair taking pictures.

Why was NoPasaran or Shaz in any of these pictures. Camera shy? Actually they're both in the first picture.

What a lovely gathering

Oh and we especially thank our DUers from the north who came and visited us on our turf. Especially MagicMuffin all the way down from Fort Worth. She traveled the furthest.

27. I second that Melissa G
I really enjoyed getting to meet the DU gang of Austin. You guys are a lively bunch, to say the least. It was great that David, Rachel, and the two girls got to come up from San Antonio.

Thank you Sonia for getting the group together. Hopefully work will bring me back, in the foreseeable future, and we can do this again.

Thanks for sharing the pics with us.

28. I'm so disappointed I couldn't make it.
I was at the AWP meeting that morning, and just couldn't fit in breakfast at La Feria. I hope that y'all will meet again, and hopefully south of the river too!

29. Sorry we missed you too, Dora
We'll probably trade off between north and south locations, so I imagine that we'll be back at Curra's for the next one. Then we can come back south again. I'm hoping that they get Maria's Taco Xpress done by then. That's my favorite location but no way we're fitting 18 people in that small little place.
