1. I wish I could come; I'm torn between Charlie and Boyd. Hey, what do you
think it says about events when they are booked at various venues -- say the Bottomless Pit, or Nueces Cafe, or the BBQ Man, or Yin-Yang Fandango, or Sokal Hall, or any of the other venues where events are often booked. I always wonder who does that booking and why they pick one place over another basaed on what.

2. Well, I know that locally,
there is a sort of list of Dem-friendly businesses where party and club functions tend to get booked, because someone knows the owner who is a Dem, or something like that. And when an out of town speaker is booked to appear at one of those places, it's usually the locals who do the booking and organize the event and the speaker just shows up. But that's just how it works here... YMMV. :)

5. I was torn, too
until I read the answers from the South Texas Chisme TDP questionnaire. Boyd doesn't get the grassroots. I am anxious to see and hear Charlie. (Maxey is not a possibility for me for several reasons.)

7. He's the establishment's guy
They're afraid of the grassroots, I think. The power folks got that way through the old establishment.

9. I liked him, too
He gets that the party has drifted from its roots and that the grassroots are ignored. He gets that south Texas and the Valley are different from Austin and Round Rock.

10. I agree with you, WestHoustonDem

I haven't decided for sure, because I didn't dig deeply, not knowing if I was a delegate or not. But now that I am and from what I already know, it's Charlie unless someone can tell me a very good reason why not.

editing to ask: Does anyone know any "names" who've endorsed him? Not that it would change my mind, but it could make me stop reading up and say, "That's good enough for me."
