Anybody from Burleson?- morbid billboard
Today I was working in Burleson and saw a billboard on I-35 southbound at Renfro.
It read "On April 27(I Think) 2006, 31 students from Burleson High School will die in drunk driving accidents" and next to it was a drawing of the grim reaper and "2006" underneath. And below that was something I wasn't close enough to read.
Has anyone seen it or know the story?

I found it very morbid and bizarre.

2. After living in Southern Tarrant...
...for many years, I find Burleson to be morbid in and of itself. When I saw it last, October '05, it has more concrete but still just as morbid. Simple folks, full of Bush and their bibles.

4. It sounds a lot like the "Every 15 minutes" program
that is aimed at discouraging teen drinking.

The outline is:

-One student "dies" every fifteen minutes and dresses up as the Grim Reaper. The student cannot speak the rest of the day.

-At the end of the day there is an Assembly with some skits and testimony by a drunk driver survivor or family member of a drunk driving victim.

-For some reason the assembly has a way of making many students cry.

I do not see anything too creepy about it. Though I do question its effectiveness. Of course if it stops one student from getting behind the wheel plastered it is worth it.
