Check your insurance bill for something real fishy.

My insurance company is USAA. 2 years ago they valued the cost to rebuild my home from $126,000 to $180,000 a 50% increase! Of course my premium went up a couple of hundred dollars.

When I questioned it, they said they were using a "new" system to value the cost to rebuild.

I fought this and had it changed to $130,000 giving them about a 5% increase.

You might want to check your insurance statement.

Does this have to do with that square foot thingy they sent out about a year ago that I ignored? That they kept sending and calling about that I continued to ignore? It was like they wanted me to recount or remeasure every room in my house or something.

Maybe I should look at my statement . . .
