3. I keep getting an error message. :-(
Could it be the university's firewall? I didn't get out of my meeting until 11:15 and decided it was too late to go down. Dh is down there trying to park right now and says it's insane. (For some reason, he didn't even head down until 10:45. :spank:)

Waaahhh! I wish I could be there!

6. Thanks, Sonia! I'll try NBCs. The WFAA is supposed to have a live stream now
outside the arena, but it's not working either.

I heard from dh. He got the last parking space near the Book Depository and is now walking. Hope he gets in!

12. Bruce Springsteeen - American Land
aka The Immigrant song:
What is this land of America, so many travel there
I'm going now while I'm still young, my darling meet me there
Wish me luck my lovely, I'll send for you when I can
And we'll make our home in the American land

Over there all the woman wear silk and satin to their knees*
And children dear, the sweets, I hear, are growing on the trees*
Gold comes rushing out the river straight into your hands*
If you make your home in the American land*

There's diamonds in the sidewalks, there's gutters lined in song
Dear I hear that beer flows through the faucets all night long
There's treasure for the taking, for any hard working man
Who will make his home in the American land

I docked at Ellis Island in a city of light and spire
I wandered to the valley of red-hot steel and fire****
We made the steel that built the cities with the sweat of our two hands
And I made my home in the American land

There's diamonds in the sidewalk, there's gutters lined in song
Dear I hear that beer flows through the faucets all night long
There's treasure for the taking, for any hard working man
Who will make his home in the American land

The McNicholas, the Posalski's, the Smiths, Zerillis too**
The Blacks, the Irish, the Italians, the Germans and the Jews
The Puerto Ricans, illegals, the Asians, Arabs miles from home***-*****
Come across the water with a fire down below******

They died building the railroads, worked to bones and skin
They died in the fields and factories, names scattered in the wind
They died to get here a hundred years ago, they're dyin' now
The hands that built the country we're all trying to keep down

There's diamonds in the sidewalk, there's gutters lined in song
Dear I hear that beer flows through the faucets all night long
There's treasure for the taking, for any hard working man
Who will make his home in the American land
Who will make his home in the American land
Who will make his home in the American land

11. John Mellencamp's Walk Tall
The simple minded
And the uninformed
Can be easily led astray
And those that cannot connect the dots
Hey look the other way
People believe what they want to believe
When it makes no sense at all
so be careful of those who kill in jesus' name
who don't believe in killing at all
Walk tall
Yeah walk on
Through this world
Walk tall

Somewhere out in the distance
Is the death of you and me
Even though we don't think of it much
It's still out there for us to see
If you treat life like a bar room fight
You'll die stinking of gin
No drunkards are allowed in heaven
No sinners will get in
Walk tall

Yeah, walk on
Walk tall

I know John Mellencamp was an Edwards supporter, and I would absolutely love to see him move over to the Obama camp.

15. Ron Kirk says we have to finish it in Texas
He says we this thing got started in Texas, so we should finish it here in Texas.

He mentioned the historical march of the thousands of Prairie View Students yesterday.

17. Finally we get Obama
I would have hated to follow Emmitt. He was great.

Nice young man who introduces him comparing him to JFK, Cesar Chavez and MLK.

We are going to change the face of America.

19. I didn't get your PM until after I left work
I got there in line at 10am today and we were in Reunion Arena at 12:20. I did see Obama's motorcade go by, 27 motorcycles were leading him! He had his window down and was waving to the people in line. I got some pics, but I'm old school and I have to drop them off to be developed. I was up in the 2nd tier, so they probably just have an itty bitty Obama in them.

It was really awesome!

20. He had his game on today
Even though he was ill with a flu bug, I think he did better than he did last night in Houston. A good night's sleep will help with that.

Emmitt was great - fired up the crowd.

Bless the poor young woman who had to handle the Spanish translation. I think she in a bit over her head. But she did try.

Great you got to see him. Now it's our turn again in Austin for the debate.

:)

I'm really really glad that I went. The crowd was great. The excitement was penetrable.

22. I'm so fired up I can't wait til Nov
Can't we get bush to leave sooner? That's what's depressing me. We still have 11 more month's of that frigging disaster of a president.

I liked the comment Ron Kirk made about how we started it in Texas and we have to end it here. Well I do believe that would square us right away. If Texas helps Obama lock up the nomination, then the curse is off!
