I don't know if you have seen them or not, but Raise Your Hand Texas has some fabulous ads on TV decrying the cuts that some in Austin are trying to make to public education. The two I have seen feature Tommy Lee Jones and Ed Whitacre, the former Southwestern Bell and GM chief. They are to the point with their message that they don't want legislators to damage Texas by shortchanging schools.
I love these ads because this morning I have a column in the Morning news today that suggests Texans who are frustrated with the direction that Rick Perry and the tea party are taking Texas should stand up and say so. My colleague Rodger Jones made a similar pitch in this Opinion blog post.
