North Texas DU goes to the theatre....

I happened to mention that I would be performing in a Community theatre production of "42nd Street" while I was in the lounge; now it seems some North Texas DUers are interested in meeting up for the production. 42nd Street is being produced by Headliners of Texas and will be on stage January 27-29 and February 3-5 at 7:30pm and January 30 and February 6 at 2:00pm at the Campus Theatre in Denton, Texas. If any DUers would like to meet up on a certain night at one of the shows, let me know! We can get a few drinks and chat afterward. I don't know which night/weekend would work best. I'll kick this post every once in a while so everyone get the info and can write feedback.

We live in Plano, but we met doing a show in Denton with Music Theatre of Denton. I have never heard of the Headliners group; is it new?

Sat night or Sun afternoon would be the best for us, but we could probably make a Friday also.

They sponsor all types of arts around Denton, not just theatre. MTD's next production will be "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum"

after another long week of rehearsals and costuming chaos! The big show is really coming together and we are all getting sooooooooooo excited!!! I'm sorry I am not here more often to check in with the DUers that are coming to the show, but this show is "taking over" right now! I was at the theatre today (to see a show that just closed today) and checked out your seats and I honestly think these are absolutely FANTASTIC seats!!! 29. you can park pretty much anywhere.....

but I suggest somewhere close to the theatre. The signs on the the streets say 2hour parking M-F, but you can park on the streets as long as needed on the weekends! Directions:

From I-35W: Take the Bonnie Brae exit and turn left (northbound) onto Bonnie Brae. Take a right onto Hickory and keep going straight on Hickory (it will turn into a one-way street and you'll be going the correct one-way) until you see the big marquee for the Campus Theatre (on your left).

From I-35E: Take the 377 (Ft. Worth Drive) exit and go north(east)bound on 377 it will wind around and turn into Carroll St. Stay on Carroll until you hit Hickory and turn right (east) and you'll almost immediately see the Campus Theatre just ahead (on your left).

I am absolutely exhausted, yet so excited about getting performances underway! We had our last dress rehearsal to work-out some last minute bugs, but I think we're set to go! Just remember, you all will be sitting in row G, seats 9-16 (two people can't make it). I have to fall into bed and get some rest. My dad is flying in from Houston tomorrow afternoon to see "Opening Night" and flying home Friday morning.
