MLK DAY
Monday, January 17: Attend the large MLK Day parade with your group or join anti-war people (should be able to spot a fabulous large colorful "Austin Against War" banner) to show your solidarity with MLK’s outrage over unjust war and murder in our name – a mantra he started boldly speaking to just one year before his assassination. The march will start at the MLK statue on the east mall at UT at 8:00 am, will go to the Capitol then to Huston-Tillotson for the festival. AUSTIN SPOKESCOUNCIL FUNDRAISER
Wednesday, January 26th @ 8:00pm: Austin Spokescouncil, a space for anti-war groups to collaborate, hosts a benefit at Ruta Maya. Incredible music from: Echo Bass, Attic Ted, the Free Radicals and Eddie Warren. This event coincides with the Art Opening for "Drawing Resistance" - A national, radical activist traveling art show. $5 donation; Ruta Maya is at 3601 S. Congress Ste.D-200 behind Expose.
