TCEQ (the Texas EPA) refused to attend town hall meeting.
My letter to State Senator Jackson and Rep Davis. Please consider contacting your own reps on this matter:

Senator Jackson and Representative Davis,

Tonight I attended a public town hall meeting to discuss air quality in Harris county based upon the Houston Chronicles recent investigative report on toxins in our air.

Unfortunately the members of the TCEQ called just 2 hours before the event and DECLINED to attend. This after coordinating with Council Member Alvarado office who worked out the details with them.

The TCEQ stood up Congressman Gene Green who was suppose to be in Washington but attended this town hall instead. State Representative Melissa Noriega and Joe Moreno traveled from Austin for this event. City Council Members, Gibbs, Alvarado, and County Commissioner Garcia also took their time to attend.

Members of the Chemical industry and environmentalist also attended, and they also were stood up by the TCEQ.

I find the lack of attendance by the TCEQ especially considering the topic to be completely insulting and disrespectful especially to our elected officials. Someone at the TCEQ should be held accountable for this.

I would like an explanation from the TCEQ.

2. Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
The Texas EPA. Used to be known as the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission or something like that. The acronym TNRCC was pronounced 'train wreck'.
