Plan of action--help me out

1. Proposal is ready to be mailed on or about 2-21-05. If you see flaws or feel something needs to be added, please let me know so we can do this.
2. Need to get petition out with as many signatures as possible. Please forward it to people on your lists whether or not they live in the DFW area. AAR is good for us in every market we can get it into because it helps spread the truth. We do not have a mainstream media anymore.It is our duty to get our message out there just like the repugs do. We NEED the support of our fellow DU'ers and our masses to sign these petitions.
3. Email your congressmen and women, email Keith O, email Stephanie to sign our petitions...we have acquired some political capital--let's use it to promote our agenda.
4. We need to promote others here in DU to follow the same campaign for AAR in their area and assist in whatever capacity we can. We have to put forth a team effort to make this a reality.
5. Approximately on 2-28-05 or thereabouts that week, call the station (to be announced) requesting that AAR be brought to DFW.
6. Approximately on 2-28-05 or thereabouts that week, call AAR and request that they bring a station to DFW.
7. Would like some volunteers in the DFW area to visit the conservative stations (if we do not make headway with our requests) and request to see public files the week of 3-07-05. If they do NOT offer alternative programming for the liberal audience, file a written complaint with the station. Follow this up with a complaint to the FCC. If a station has a complaint, they are obligated to maintain it in the public file for inspection and they are required to report it to the FCC. Where this comes in handy is when they apply for their license renewal. Part of their license is that they serve their community.

Simply put, we need you. Please help us.

I think your packet has the "ears" part of the plan down. Show them how many voters voted in the last election and show them a well filled out petition and that will do part of the work.

I think as soon as we know the target station we should call AAR and Jones Radio Network and let them know what we are doing. They can provide their standard marketing pitch once we help get them in the door. (Do you have appropriate contacts at AAR and Jones?)

Not sure your rationale behind emailing our congresspeople, etc?

We certainly SHOULD let individual show hosts on AAR know so they could get it on their blog. In this way we might get local people who listen via stream or satellite. I guess this'll have to wait until Monday.

2. Name recognition is all

To lend validity to our cause.
Our party needs to unite behind the fact that we have to get our message out there. That is the one thing we have to strive for as a party--unity. Whether its on who to chair the DNC (yeahhhh Dr. Dean), candidates, pulling support on ineffective elected officials, etc...unity has to be the common goal.
I pm'd you a list of Jones Media contacts and am working on AAR contacts and hopefully will have those to you this afternoon.
