Has Anyone Heard of Cody Judy?

He is a frequent candidate for Utah public office, he has recently contacted me to offer help getting my PAC/527 rolling,

Thing is, the man spent 8 years in prison for threatening a LDS leader with a briefcase that supposedly contained a bomb.

I believe everyone deserves a second chance, and that Mr. Judy has paid his debt, I'm just wondering about the guy's character, general state of mind, etc.

Anyone familiar with him?

But don't know much more than what you already posted.

He has run for office twice since getting out of prison and from the articles I've read seems like he's serious about political activism within the Democratic Party and now strongly liberal - but he probably will never get elected to office.

The one thing I did read about him that seems strange was that earlier in his life he had some visions or prophecies or something like that "appointing" him as a Mormon prophet, and he attempted to get an audience with LDS church leaders to discuss the visions. He was rebuffed which is what led to the "bomb" incident where he tried to get the church's attention. He now says he has matured and outgrown that period in his life. I have never met him personally and don't know any more than I have read in articles. Try a web search on "Cody Judy".

3. Cody Judy: Touched by an Angel

Sorry, this might be a little late, but I have heard of him. My knowledge of him comes from a spot on the Daily Show and a very large article in Salt Lake City Weekly. He strikes me as a total nutcase, personally. I would suggest maybe talking to him over the phone or something to get a feel for him yourself. People who "mature" from having visions and threatening religious leaders into seeking public office (as opposed to seeking a nice quiet life out of the public eye) make me suspicious.
