Well I have just returned. 9 days on the road, on the motorcycle. 3 nights in Torrey. One night in St George on the way up, then thru' Zion, up 89 and 62, where I missed hitting some deer by at most a few feet, at 75 mph. In the middle of nowhere. 45 degrees and raining at that time. Then 31 degrees and ... snowing falling all around me, on 24 toward Torrey. But then the weather got better and I had 3 nice nights in Torrey. And a ride around Capitol Reef and another out to the Burr Trail, and a hike into a slot canyon. Leaving Torrey, down 12 (what a scenic road) and into Bryce, then back to Zion for the night. Then half a day walking to the end of the main road (closed to anyone but shuttle buses). The Narrows were closed at the end. The river was deep and raging. Too dangerous. Then North Rim, Marble Canyon (Navaho Bridges), Page for a night and Glen Canyon dam and bridge. Then the south Rim (too crowded except for the tower area) and Needles as my final night. Then home. I must say, southern Utah is a most scenic and beautiful place. It sure would be nice to live out there. But the winters may be quite harsh. Maybe live there 1/2 the year. dc
