Dummerston backs impeachment, VY evacuation plan

It was the usual Dummerston town meeting.

There were complex discussions about gravel and sand, new dump trucks, too-high property taxes, the mostly completed townwide reappraisal, school funding and, at the end, a lively little surprise when, to great applause, the town voted to ask its Congressional representatives to impeach President George W. Bush.

Also on the minds of Dummerston residents, given the town's proximity to the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant, were updating emergency evacuation plans.
