Not that I know how to milk cows or anything.

What about computer businesses, online, that sort of thing?

Teaching?

1. wooden bucket myth...
dairy farms 50 years ago - approx 11k
dairy farms today - less than 1k

Vermont is not much different than any other state... if you have a desirable skill, there is work

I can milk cows, I had a teacher's license and know computers...

my home is in the Northeast Kingdom, but my work is traveling throughout the U.S.

I miss Vermont also!

is easiest over the internet with online skills

I have family near St. Johnsbury are you much North of there?

Maybe the boomer generation doesn't really live in Burlington, it seemed like a young city the last time I was there.

The ideal might be to spend winters in the South, that's an ideal combination. Save on heating bills.

Leave in November and return in late April.. nice

3. on Joe's Pond...
my kids have all been working the ski resorts, but they are struggling to find work in their fields... one is going out west to lead bike tours, one is going back to school...

lots of boomers live in Burlington but it is true; UVM keeps the town young (my youngest is a senior at UVM)

once I can quit traveling, I will never want to leave... I love the snow!
