1. Yes ....It's not that uncommon in floods of this magnitude.
I think a river in Skagit county did that a few years ago. A number of people found that their river front property was now under the river. It's scary out there....

The Lewis County sheriff's office says flooding has changed the course of the Cowlitz River at Packwood and is threatening to flood 300 homes.

The river appeared to be receding Tuesday morning, and rescue crews pulled out, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Richard Thompson said. The river then rose by about two feet and changed course, he said.

Authorities said everyone in the High Valley area north of the Cowlitz River should evacuated.

The Four Square Church in Packwood is accepting evacuees.
