Washington state has become one of the top targeted states for Wal-Mart expansion in the U.S. The world's largest retailer has its sites set on megastores in King County, Clark County, Spokane, Snohomish, Pierce and many other neighborhoods.

To counteract Wal-Mart's out-of-state developers and high-paid consultants, we are developing a Task Force of Evergreen staters interested in protecting our communities from Wal-Mart expansion. We are already fighting developments in various parts of the state, and there will be much more community organizing ahead.

1. thank you eridani! Someone must counter-act the TV ads

that make Wal-mart look like such a benevolent part of every small town in America. Meanwhile, chains like Brown and Cole struggle to survive, because they are doing the right thing. Walmarts practices are wrong, and they are evil for exploiting the poor and vulnerable workforce.
I will urge everyone I know to stay away from Walmart.
