Please post March antiwar events here
Seattle

4th Anniversary End the War March: 3/19/07
Gather 3:00pm at the Federal Courthouse: 700 Stewart St.

March at 3:30pm to City Hall & Federal Building

Over 600,000 Iraqis dead
More than 3000 US service people killed
Over 10.4 billion diverted from Washington State
One billion diverted from Seattle

With the resources from the people of Seattle that have been expended:

Ø We could have provided 4 years of free health coverage for every uninsured child in the state

Ø Granted a four-year university scholarship to every student who has graduated from a Seattle High School since the war began

Ø Paid 4 years of salary for 1500 additional public school teachers.

Join the 36th District Democrats, along with SNOW, Jobs with Justice, Church Council of Greater Seattle, LELO, MLK County Labor Council and many, many others for a Rally and March underscoring the devastating effects the war has had on our local communities.

Many thanks.

1. Bellevue
On March 19, the fourth anniversary of the Iraq war, local East Side MoveOn members will be holding a Vigil for Peace. We plan to line Bellevue Way during the evening and make a visible statement of opposition to the endless, escalating tragedy unfolding in Iraq. We'll gather at the SW corner of 8th Ave. NE and Bellevue Way at 5:45 p.m. The vigil is planned for 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. All concerned individuals and anti-war organizations are invited to participate. Bring placards, banners and candles. This event is planned primary as a silent, visual statement of opposition, however we'll begin and end this event with short statements by participants. If you are a veteran, the parent of a veteran or simply an outraged citizen or resident and would like to say a few words, please contact Chris Tombrello @ christom1@mac.com

Here's a link to a summary of 8th District MoveOn anti-war activities in February:
