Come rain or Shine, please join me for Seattle's Walk for Peace this September 15th by joining me for a Saturday afternoon peaceful walk with Peace Signs and/or by making a contribution to this walk.
My personal donation goal for Seattle's Walk for Peace ~ with donations coming from ANYWHERE ~ is $1,000, and there is no limit! Why not make it $4,000! This money goes towards the Campaign for a U.S. Dept of Peace!
September is International Culture of Peace Month, with literally thousands of pro-peace activities all around the world. In this campaign, The Peace Alliance is encouraging Walk for Peace walkathons on September 15. Communities across the nation are already creating their own walks. And it's a fun, creative, dynamic way to raise money and awareness about the Department of Peace.
If you are able to join with me in the walk, the walk meets up at the Green Lake Bathhouse Theatre located at 7312 West Green Lake North ~ at 1:00pm ~ and journeys south along Aurora Avenue to the Aurora Bridge and back again. There is a parking lot near the theatre and some parking on the street, and there is more parking located south of Green Lake and at the Lower Woodland Park lawn bowling park, located at 63rd and Whitman Place North. People parking on the south side of the Green Lake can meet up with the walk as it travels by the Woodland Park Zoo.
I have an information flyer if you would like one to read or pass on. Please send me an email. The walk is coming up pretty fast! So please pass this news on immediately! And make plans to Walk for Peace! Bring your Friends and Family!
I only just heard about how nation wide, these peace walks will be going on, and when I noticed that Seattle did not have a Walk for Peace organized yet, I jumped on the peace wagon and decided to put one together! I will organize next year's Alliance for Peace - Walk For Peace too, so there is more time to plan ahead! But for the time being, this will do.
If you decide to do this, I hope you enjoy your walk with me, whether in spirit ~ or starting and ending at Green Lake with your walking shoes on! If you are coming, please try to RSVP here, so I will have your contact info.
