Check out the party oaths for Tuesday's primary |
|
In particular, look at the Republican one. In essence, it says that anyone who votes in the primary as a declared Republican cannot have participated in the Democratic caucuses. What does this mean for the caucus votes of people who did do this?
The Democratic Party Oath: I declare that I consider myself to be a DEMOCRAT and I will not participate in the nomination process of any other political party for the 2008 Presidential election.
The Republican Party Oath: I declare that I am a member of the Republican Party and I have not participated and will not participate in the 2008 precinct caucus or convention system of any other party.

1. I don't know. However, your primary sign-in info-- |
|
--is available to whatever party you sign in as for 60 days. Then it goes away.

2. Yes, but the caucus was not 60 days ago |
|
The system allows people to participate in each. The Republican oath is retroactive. What happens if the same person votes in both the Democratic caucus and the Republican primary? Do they cancel each other out?

3. I don't know that they are double checked, think more of a moral/ethical thing. |
|
I'd like to know though if lists are checked against each other since I know of people whom I believe are repubs who are voting repub ballot and went to dem caucus. I think it is more of a moral/ethical thing, which is ironic.

5. I'm betting that the Repubs will probably double check |
|
I doubt if the Dems have the time. I'm working hard on data entry, with quite a bit left to do.
