Post your March 19th peace events here

Seattle-

Date/Time
March 19 (Wednesday), 6:00 PM
Location
Westlake 4th and Pine, Seattle
Sponsored by
5th Anniversary Coalition

Gather to protest the 5th anniversary of the US attack on Iraq.

March 19, 2008, will mark the fifth anniversary of the illegal, unjust and disastrous invasion of Iraq by the U.S. military. Thousands of people marched in Seattle in 2002 as the war began in a spirited evening march to the Federal Building. On March 19, 2008, we encourage the community to mark the anniversary with diverse autonomous actions throughout the day such as freeway bannering, vigils, teach-ins, walk-outs and direct action/civil disobedience, culminating with an evening protest convergence at Westlake Park at 6 pm. This unifying, non- violent demonstration will project our grief and anger at the senseless loss of life in this war for empire and oil, while also conveying our hopes for a future of peace based on justice and human rights.

5. Do I understand that there isn't going to be a "march" in Seattle on March 19th?? Just a vigil
gathering? Haven't we marched every anniversary?

6. We've marched only on weekends AFAIK
If you are going to do something on a workday, it isn't going to be a march. That's a major problem with antiwar protests, I think. They are events that you pencil in to your schedule along with everything else you are doing.

8. Nice link for downloadable posters
Please consider using these protest posters to help mark the 5th year of the war in Iraq:

http://www.know-our-enemy.net/make-no-mistake/

http://www.know-our-enemy.net/say-something/

The posters are designed to print on regular paper, and look great in either black and white or color.

Reload each web page to get a new combination of images and slogans.

If you use the posters, please let me know by email at friend {at} know-our-enemy.net

And if you take any pictures of the posters in action, please email your pix as well.

Thank you for your consideration, and best wishes for a successful event.

Peace,

-Nino
