IMHO, this is NOT "terrorism", which is a crime against PEOPLE, not PROPERTY.

Oklahoma City was Terrorism. KKK lynchings were Terrorism. This is POLITICAL VANDALISM.

and SO conveinient for the Developers: right during the UW Horticulture Arson Trial, and all the homes sitting unsold for 6 months while the construction loan payments keep piling up. all it takes to call yourself "ELF" is a can of spray paint.

Explosive devices found at luxury home fires near Woodinville
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

WOODINVILLE, Wash. -- Fire officials say explosive devices were found inside the four homes set afire this morning in the "Street of Dreams" development near Woodinville.

The FBI is investigating the fires as a potential domestic terrorism act.

Snohomish County District 7 Fire Chief Rick Eastman says firefighters discovered the devices and were able to remove them.

1. ok, its terrorism.
the dictionary says "people AND property". so it is "eco-terror". but THE MAN wrote the dictionary, and there's no way this is a crime on the same scale as Oklahoma City or a suicide bombing.

4. On a second thought, the real estate market is tanking
If the houses stayed on the market too long, wouldn't arson be a way of recouping the investment?

8. did they set the fire TO kill someone?
these people lit unoccupied homes on fire. if you assume it is ELF, they are trying to intimidate builders into responsible development. that's within the definition of "terror".

but Martin Pang set his parent's warehouse on fire. it was unoccupied, and instead of letting it burn, the SFD went in, the roof collapsed, and 4 firefighters died. trying to protect property, not lives. from the PI:

<Investigators determined arson was the cause and that the arsonist was Martin Pang, son of the building's owner. He is serving a 35-year sentence after pleading guilty to four counts of manslaughter.

But in the aftermath of the deadly fire, the department itself took a beating -- there were state fines for safety violations committed while fighting the fire as well as lawsuits from families of the firefighters killed.>

he wasn't trying to TERRORIZE anyone. we was trying to save his ass.

and if this turns out to NOT be ELF, and its arson-for-insurance, then that won't be terror, either.

9. It's not terrorism
IMO, but it sets back the environmental movement. There are better ways to get a point across other than vandalism.

11. The arsonist is indeed a terrorist
If it,s elf it is still enviornmental or urban terrorism.. Building is stopped in the courts or the court is pititioned,or not at all.Living by the sword is not our way.I cannot make any excuses for arson ,it,s just terrible bad . And murder by fire or attempted murder by fire is murder, the worst and most selfish act one or any number of those people can commit. If the fire was no accident than there can be no accidential death.

There is no good or justification for the act of arson.Pang is responsible for four deaths because he wanted the insurance claim.

12. The elective decision
on location givin the information available falls upon those in charge at the scean of the fire . Right or wrong the decision was exacuted and the method of fighting that fire was set to motion.
Clearly what was found out durning and after the fire was not known in the process of decision making as to how to go about combating the fire.

Do you let flames fly threw the sky in the inner city or do you extinguish those flames.? I cannot say as I am not a professional fire fighter and I don,t know what information was available in the process of decision making. I do know that blue prints sometimes lie.

The Pang fire was no accident ,that much I do know.
