Beats for Obama benefit at Nectar Lounge on April 1

Stop by the Nectar Lounge on April 1 for a benefit for the Barack Obama campaign.

The fundraiser features Seattle electronica DJs Dig Dug, Slantooth , FUTUREdub (featuring Shapeshifter and Contents) and Vendetta Kane spinning drum 'n bass, breaks, dubstep and hip hop, plus Laura "Piece" Kelley of the Block Teamsters Union and Verbal Oasis.

Show up early to bid on silent auction items including lift tickets from Whistler Blackcomb, hoodies and tees from Barackawear and more.

Doors at 8. The suggested donation at the door is $7 but feel free to contribute more!

Event promoter Karen Johanson is one of Washington state's many Obama delegates. The event is part of her fundraising efforts designed to help Obama win remaining primaries and caucuses, especially the Pennsylvania primary on April 22, where 188 Democratic delegates are up for grabs.

Visit http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/4xbl for updates about the event.

Contact Karen Johanson at info {at} karenjohanson.com or 206.734.3032 with any questions.

1. Bake Sale at Green Lake 6/22
Come on out Sunday June 22nd to Green Lake near the play ground and community center for a walk to play at Green Lake. While you are there, stop by the Hungry for Change booth to buy a breakfast muffin, cookie, brownie, lemon bar or scone to support Obama! I will also have a "princess cake" for sale perfect to celebrate the little princess in your life.

Also, a Michelle Obama cake, dressed up for the inaugural ball! Please email me if you would like to special order a princess or first lady cake. Make an offer for the donation price.

Directions: Green Lake, near the playground and community center.

Attendee Message: Please email if you would like to bring a few dozen baked goods. Please include a copy of all the ingredients, and your contact information. Would another supporter like to cohost or take over the booth in the afternoon? I will set up at 9AM, but must leave by 11:15. I would love to have the sale continue throughout the day-- there is so much foot traffic through Green Lake on Sundays. I could return after 4PM to help shut down. Tell your friends to come out, bring the kids and buy a brownie at the park to support Obama. Has it ever been easier to support your political candidate?

We can do this on the Eastside! Maybe at a farmers' market or an event. I already have one volunteer, but it will take a few people to make this work. Can you help? Be at the booth, bake something, setup, whatever. It will help fund our election efforts and it will be fun.

Thanks in advance,

Gail
