Anyone else caucusing tomorrow?
I just checked the agenda. Six hours? Zoinks, maybe I should bring a book. Would that be rude?

1. I know!
WTF are we gonna be doing there all day? I didn't expect it to be a full day committment when I signed on and I'm a little PO'd about it actually. I'll be there though to support my candidate and make an effortg to wear a smile on my face.

2. Oh, good, I'm glad it's not just me!
My in-laws are delegates in a much less populous area, and they're expecting to be home by noon, so I was grumbling a little about the schedule my district is planning.

But, yeah, I'll stick it out with a smile on my face (and a sandwich in my bag).

3. Could Be Longer, Is My Impression
The information packet that I got doesn't seem to give ANY estimate as to when it will be over. It just says "(be prepared to spend the whole day at the caucus)."

5. Yup, that's how it went.
It ran two hours long, so were there until 5.

Phew--eight hours is a long time sitting in the bleachers.

6. Today was legislative district.
I'm all caucused out for the day. Next week are the county conventions--that should be much more interesting.

8. I have to say that it wasn't fun...
Ours was even more disorganized than I expected it to be. I swear the WA democrats just need to appoint me Queen and I'll fix it. (just kidding)

What was the Winston Churchill quote...

"It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried."

10. A report from Pacific County

http://www.washblog.com/story/2008/4/21/171150/272

Saturday, April 19, 2008, Pacific County Courthouse is when and where it was held. I attended as a delegate for Obama from my local precinct caucus. Pacific County will be sending to the Congressional and State convention a total of 7 delegates; four delegates for Obama, and three delegates for Clinton.
I am not among those chosen, yet I am proud, because, having given two brief yet passionate speeches, the message I carry and want sent forth as a military family with 2 returning Iraq veterans and one again deployed in Iraq now will be carried to the Congressional and State conventions. Two of the four Obama delegates know first hand the stakes of having loved ones deployed in Iraq. One is also a military family (father with two returning Iraq veterans; his daughter was wounded in Iraq). The other is a woman, a Marine, Vietnam-era.

Breaking it down into categories, we had four elements that could have gone more smoothly:
