You know, I am more worried about our Governor's race than
I am about the Presidential race.

I think McSame has basically mucked himself over.

But with Gregoire/Rossi, I'm not so sure.

It was so close in '04. I have no idea how it will be this year, but I feel more worried now than I did in '04, regardless of the fact that '04 was so close.

I wish either Biden or Obama would show up here in the next couple of weeks.

I just could not stand seeing Rossi sworn in as Gov!

3. I'm worried as well...I think it's going to be another squeeker
My 18 year old daughter has told me she has a number of friends who won't vote for Christine because of her support of the WASL. They will vote for Obama but will just not vote for Gov or vote for Rossi. I've spoken to a number of her friends over the past few years and the WASL anger is quite large with the teens and brand new voters.

14. That's really sad. They're acting like children being mad at a teacher for homework.
Don't their parents have any in-depth conversations with them about important things? It's not that hard to pass the WASL, how utterly short sighted it is to base their votes on something so petty. I imagine your daughter is educating them on the important issues.. like reproductive choice, school funding, the environment, etc.

17. The WASL created a great deal of pressure for many kids
Most of the kids my daughter hung out with in high school were Honor Society kids who all experienced a degree of stress beyond the norm with the WASL. They were the first class that required passing for graduation and the fear with these kids was palpable. They didn't know what to expect. My own kid who is normally super confident with academics had a number of sleepless nights and talked with me of feeling anxious about the test. They felt that their lives were on the line with the results. It didn't feel petty to them and there are quite a few of them who remember this as an awful experience.

Don't underestimate the anger these young voters feel about this. She's been tell them to vote Dorn for School Superintendent and to keep Chris in.

5. There are a lot of angry former Sonics' fans
who have a specific reason not to vote for Gregoire. Given the close margine last time, it wouldn't take many to change the outcome.

20. I'm one Sonics fan who's voting for Gregoire
I didn't like her waffling about the Sonics and the Alaskan Way Viaduct so I briefly considered Rossi.

He's a total idiot when it comes to transportation issues. He thinks he can build an 8 lane 520 bridge for less than what the WSDOT says a 6 lane would cost.

When he endorsed Tim Eyman's I-985 which would rob a half a billion dollars from the general fund it was an easy choice to vote for Gregoire.

I love and will miss the Sonics but this area is choked in gridlock and Rossi offers no solutions.

and even some of my Dem friends say they "just don't like her" without really being specific. I'm trying to motivate them, and get them to at least vote against Rossi, I wish her campaign would go on the offensive more with him. One guy buys into that whole gambling controversy and thinks I'm "spinning" it, as the Seattle Times is the beacon of truth. grrr, I am so ticked at the Times, you know Rossis in good with someone there.

I've been impressed with her in debates (and didn't realize how short he is, he didn't seem to like standing right beside her, heh). He gives me the heeby-jeebies and is such a heartless, slimy p**ck, while I can tell Christine has real heart, in addition to a working brain. I felt for her when she had a press conf. scheduled not too long after her dog was fatally hit by a car, and she teared up when some idiot reporter asked her about her dog. Probably someone from the Times, how insensitive.

They're pretty conservative.

Sickening, though.

15. Considering our State was one of the last ones in the country to be hit by this ecomony,
Gregoire has done a stellar job of keeping us in good shape so far. The financial storm is the doing of the republicans in DC, not our people in Olympia. It was only a matter of time before the real estate and credit crunch would hit us. Washington was one of just a handful of states last year who still had a balanced budget. Makes me crazy to see those stupid Rossi ads alleging that she's messing up. This State is one of the best run states I've lived in...

16. I was just thinking the same thing, after seeing yet another
Rossi ad claiming that everything is Gregoire's fault.

I've got news for Dino: it's the fault of the Republicans in DC; the same Republicans you have aligned yourself with.

Asshole.

18. Oh, it's not quite as bad as it is made out to be.
The fireworks will start soon enough ,Rossi made more than one mistake back there in his money grabbing sham when he headed forward Washington (!)

I would love to tell you more ,but at this point I think that might spoil the upcoming show.

22. SeattleGirl ,
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 04:33 PM by Wash. state Desk Jet
Absolutely no doubt ! However, I did notice the closer we got to voting day, doubt and worry seemed to set in. I saw Rossi's campaign flaws early on ,back in May ,in fact. And I knew than that flaw would reverse itself on Rossi, thus becoming his end.Rossi saw the flaw as a asset. Essentially, his own method reversed on him. And that's what I saw coming all along the way.And I think the election results rather proved it ! You don't have to worry about Rossi no more ,no more. It ain't gonna rain Rossi no more,no more !

It was quite a show SeattleGirl, wasn't it ! The part about the sudden declared victory just before 10:30 P.M. . Why it seemed to come as a total surprise,in fact it did come as a total surprise,Rossi was floored by it. The Governor was overwhelmed with joy! Now isn't that a total reversal from four years ago ? I still haven't ordered my victory pizza yet, but I will get to it!

RR equals reverse reverse !
And the numbers are in.
