From King County Dems Rapid Response people. Please report any similar calls to your local Dems.
I just got a phone call from someone claiming to be from King County, but with a Mother and Sister in Spokane County. His story was that they had their ballots filled out, but had no mailbox and no transportation. They wanted someone from the campaign to come pick up their ballots.
I gave him the phone number for the Spokane campaign office, and told him that they need to ask for transportation so they can drop their ballots off at a post office or the county elections department, but that they should NEVER give their ballot to anyone from any campaign office.
If anyone else gets a phone call like this, please report it ASAP. While this might be a true story, it is not ethical for anyone from a campaign to collect ballots. DO NOT trust anyone other than the US Post Office or the County Elections Department with your ballot, and do not recommend to anyone that they should trust anyone else either.
He had called me because my phone number is on the King County Democrats website. If my worst fears are true, he will be calling other people to try and get a different story. But even if this is legit, we all need to be saying the same thing. Please spread the word. It must never be claimed that the Obama campaign is willing to do this. It's just wrong.
I just got another phone call. This one from a woman in the Duvall area of North East King County, who just came home to check her answering machine messages and found one from "JudeoChristian.com". The message made the claim that Barack Obama supports late term abortions. Then the message went into a detailed and graphic description of what happens to the fetus during those medical procedures.
Because she had children, the person who got this phone call deleted it. And then called me, again because my phone number is listed on the King County Democrats website as being in charge of Rapid Response.
If you get one of these phone calls, and you have a chance to record it somehow, please do so. Also, please do a *69 to try to get the phone number it came from so we can trace it back. JudeoChristian.com doesn't really exist as an organization, nor does JudeoChristian.org. The more information we have to work with, the better to trace them back to the source.
3 days to go, everyone.
