Randy Dorn or Terry Bergeson?

I went Dorn, after talking with a Co-Worker. My mother (who is a Reading First Coordinator ) said that Terry Bergeson would be the one to vote for. She leans Republican, however.

As for Reading First, it looks like that program has run out of funding and is being dissolved at the end of the year... really bites since she will be out of a job and it's one of the only parts of No Child Left Behind that is actually making a difference. She's personally been involved in several low income schools who have vastly improved their Kindergarten/1st grade reading skills since she's been involved.

2. A friend, art teacher, progressive, asked me to vote for Dorn

Bergeson has been in a long time and is a big proponent of the WASL, which is a sore spot with many teachers. He likes Dorn, former teacher and administrator, and feels like a change is needed.

FWIW, I voted Dorn.

It was one of the last races I deciced on. His oppossition to the WASL is what clinched it for me.
