Pierce County Repubs violate county charter--help the Dems lawsuit if you can

In Pierce County, we're under attack.

Our Republican-controlled county council has declared war on our county charter. They have gone as far to amend it with out the consent of voters. They did this and appointed their own partisan hack as our county auditor, over a highly nonpartisan pick supported by the party, much of our community, and our largest newspaper.

The Republican choice went ahead and hand-selected the immediate past Republican county chair as her Deputy Auditor. Their process was hyper-partisan and went against our county charter, state constitution, and the will of the voters.

Just like the Bush administration, they sought opinions that only supported their position, and their decision was made behind closed doors, away from the light of democracy.

We need your help.

We have filed a lawsuit, and have secured an attorney. I am asking for $100, $200 or whatever you or your organization can give to help us stand strong against these undemocratic and illegal practices. Your investment will help to protect our charter, and set a precedent for years to come.

Together we can put a stop to them now, and set a precedent statewide that the people elect the party to these positions, and it should be the party that fills any unexpired terms.
