Save your plastic bottle caps!
Our city recycling does not take the plastic caps that come affixed to our water, soda and milk containers. The plastics used in these caps have a lower demand in the marketplace. Therefore, they don’t get recycled, and most of the time they make their way to the landfill. Aveda Corporation recognized this problem and recently started a cap collection program with the help of their stores, salons and within communities. The goal of this program is to not only divert these caps from landfills but to also create new packaging using this discarded plastic. So the next time you are about to throw a bottle into the recycling bin, take a second to remove the cap and Recycle Caps with Aveda.
Follow the link and learn which bottle caps are appropriate and then take your caps to our local Aveda Store: our good friends Habitude at 2801 NW Market St. They are one of our great Festival sponsors!
