Denny Heck filed Jan 6th as a Democratic candidate for WA 3rd Congressional
Heck is the 9th to announce but was immediately named "frontrunner". Heck is a former state legislator who served as chief-of-staff for Gov. Booth Gardner. Heck was among those who gathered in front of Baird's office last November to protest his vote against the HCR bill. Heck is wealthy from investments primarily in Washington high tech businesses. As a known quantity with strong connections to elected Ds in the state, he enters the race as an immediate favorite.

2. Very good. He is getting much more support from the caucus
and he has the money to self-fund which Pridemore does not.
