Harder to get benefits from WA state than SSDI
I suffered major illness in 2007, three months in coma with residual burns, eye and throat damage and PTSD. All of this was well documented by medical records. I got GAU but really needed GAX to address the PTSD issue. I had psych eval where psychologist did their best to prove i was malingering and when my records were sent to Olympia the overseeing physician twice stated I was too well for GAX. Meanwhile my SSDI attorney had no problem getting me federal disability after the first typical denial. I was very ill, had had burns over much of my body yet state of WA did its very best to deny me sorely needed benefits.

1. We an extremely regressive tax system
Also, states must by law have balanced budgets. That's why we need Medicare for All at the federal level.

4. Medicare for all at federal level
Medicare is for all at the federal level for people on ssdi or
regular ss but you have to pay for it the people who get ssi
get Medicade through the state because people do not make
enough on ssdi or ss and it's free.

2. it is a brutal system
that leaves people in a horrible position.
The medical examiners are mostly a lot of horrid human beings who are following orders.
They get very wealthy coming to such conclusions as "malingerers" and "psychological illness stemming from childhood abuse."
I hope you have someone who can help you financially. Our state is just corrupt when it comes to this. Injured workers are put through the same wringer.
Write your state rep and senator.

3. The system
The SSa out sources the first two steps of the disability
process but they have to use SSa rules and regulations witch
is federal one state cannot make there own rules up to see if
a person is disabled they are following SSa guidelines they
have to it's federal law.
